Quikjet operates charter carrying animals from Sri Lanka to India for a Zoo

In a first-ever for Quikjet a charter flight was operated on November 30, 2023 for a zoo in Jamnagar, India. On board were four Toque Monkeys, four Purple-faced Langurs, four Black Palm Civets – two Giant Squirrels, two Pygmy Hippopotamuses, two Water Monitors, two Hardshell Terrapins, four Green Pit Vipers and six Hump-nosed Lizards.

Capt Prashant Bararia was in command. With him was First Officer Prem Gehlot. The flight took off from Bangalore for Colombo at 07 am . The cargo was custom cleared and ready , after a three-hour turnaround picking up the cargo , the aircraft flew into Ahmedabad for Customs clearance.

Accompanying the special “guests” was a vet onboard , who took special care to see that all had a comfortable flight . Ahmedabad to its final destination – Jamnagar was completed without any hitches. The aircraft flew on to Delhi for scheduled operations. As always, Quikjet’s aircraft was on time.

On completion, the client’s feedback was that “this flight was planned diligently with fail safes which only reflects professionalism and understanding of the sensitive nature of the commodity that was entrusted with us for a movement. We did not have a single issue and the flight was performed without any blind spots. I believe Quikjet would outperform most competition when it comes to sensitive cargo (AVI, Difficult DGR commodities and DIP flights). That’s simply because the leadership is directly involved in all flights – animals, cargo and all other commodities.” That was followed by a welcome promise from Chapman: “CF will ensure to promote your carriage to win business in this niche.”
