The diverse experience each member brings with them is what drives Quikjet's vision of being the first choice for air cargo services on the continent. The experienced teams including Finance, Airline Operations, Commercial, and Support Services work cohesively to plan, execute, and achieve desired business and financial objectives.

Quikjet has a strong and experienced management team led by CEO, Captain Preetham Philip.

Captain Preetham Philip

Chief Executive Officer, Quikjet Cargo Airlines Pvt. Ltd.

Captain Preetham Philip is a veteran of the Indian and international aviation industry, with over four decades of experience spanning hands-on flying, airline startups, aviation policy, and executive leadership. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Quikjet Cargo Airlines, an all-cargo airline based in India and part of the ASL Aviation Holdings group.

Captain Philip’s aviation journey began as a pilot, accruing thousands of flight hours in India, Malaysia, the United States, and Norway, operating both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. This extensive flying career across continents gave him a solid foundation in operational excellence and cross-cultural aviation practices.

In 2000, he led the launch of India’s first successful helicopter pilgrimage service between Katra and the Vaishno Devi shrine, transforming access to the temple and setting the stage for high-altitude commercial heli-services in India.

A pioneer of Indian civil aviation reform, Captain Philip was a founding member of Air Deccan, India’s first low-cost carrier. He was instrumental in shaping its vision of affordable aviation, helping make air travel accessible to millions across the country.

He has also held key leadership roles in Deccan Charters, Deccan Cargo & Express Logistics, and K-Mile Air in Thailand, gaining deep insight into both domestic and regional air cargo operations.

Since 2011, as CEO of Quikjet Cargo Airlines, Captain Philip has overseen the airline’s evolution into a critical player in India’s logistics ecosystem. He led the strategic partnership with Amazon Air, making Quikjet the first Indian carrier to operate dedicated freighters for the e-commerce giant. Today, Quikjet operates Boeing 737-800 freighters across India’s primary cargo corridors.

Captain Philip holds an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Business Management. He is an alumnus of Lawrence School, Lovedale.

Recognized for his visionary leadership, operational rigour, and deep industry insight, Captain Philip continues to be a leading force in advancing India’s air cargo capabilities with a focus on time-definite, reliable, and scalable air freight solutions.

Mathew K Mathew

Chief Operating Officer
“With over 37 years of extensive experience in the airline industry, Mathew has honed his expertise in technical, operational, and commercial roles across various domestic and international airlines. He began his professional journey as an engineer with a government sector aviation company. Over the years, Mathew has gained valuable experience working with airlines that operate diverse fleets, including wide and narrow-body aircraft, turboprops, and helicopters. Mathew has also acquired substantial overseas experience working with multicultural teams, broadening his perspective and capabilities. His areas of expertise include project management, operational P&L, contract negotiations, aircraft and engine lease transactions, budgeting and financial modelling, as well as employee and industrial relations. Mathew’s unique blend of comprehensive understanding of the airline business—from technical to operational to commercial aspects— combined with his passion for aviation makes him exceptionally well-suited for the COO role.”

Ganapathi Joshi

Head of Finance
Ganapathi Joshi is qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary having more than 20 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Accounts, MIS, Taxation and Compliances. Ganapathi Joshi has worked with IT/ITES, Construction and Service Industry. Prior to joining Quikjet, he was designated as AVP – Delivery in a MNC Consulting firm. His interests include tracking corporate news, reading, writing, travel, and trekking.

Capt. Prashant Singh Bararia

Head of Flight Operations and Training
Capt Prashant Singh Bararia has an aviation career as a pilot spanning over three decades. His flying experience on the B 737 family of aircraft is from the classic B 737-400 to the B 737 MAX. He is a qualified Instructor and Designated Examiner with 16,000 hours. He is well known for his flight operations technical expertise on the Boeing 737 aircraft. His interests include Scuba Diving (Master Diver), and is an avid motorbiker, certified paraglider pilot & glider pilot.

Lt Cdr Reuben S Jones (Retd)

Head of Shared Services
Lt Cdr Reuben S Jones (Retd) is a retired Naval Officer having experience in naval aviation and surface operations. His niche area involves strategy consultation and implementation. As an aviator, navigator and as a mechanical engineer, he has taken up various appointments and has represented the country in diplomatic missions. Worked in MRF Ltd, is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Indian Air Force Academy (AFA). He is a musician and a sports enthusiast.

Gabriel David

Head of Ground Operations
Gabriel David has an aviation career spanning over two decades with cargo, ramp and terminal operations. He is a seasoned management professional , a certified load planner on the Boeing Family of 737 Classics , NGs, passenger and freighter versions including the wide body aircrafts of the B777s and A330s & A340s. This helps him to guide his team towards improved safety and operational efficiency. He is well known to maintain his calm in the eye of the storm and often called the ICEMAN amongst friends. He enjoys music and takes off for long drives over the weekends.

Cdr. B.K Bhaskaran (Retd)

Head of Flight Safety
With more than thirty years of experience overseeing and managing all facets of operations, safety, administration, and training in both military and commercial aviation, Cdr. B K Bhaskaran (Retd.) is an accomplished aviation expert. Almost 4,000 hours of accident free flying on a variety of military and commercial aircraft are to his credit. He would bring add value to the Quikjet Team as a licensed Aviation Safety Professional and Accident Investigator with practical experience. Being a passionate golfer, he believes that playing the game for at least one or two rounds a weekend helps him cope with stress.

Cdr Nirmal Jose Abraham (Retd)

Head of IOCC
Cdr Nirmal Jose Abraham (Retd), a distinguished former Air Traffic Controller in the Indian Navy, boasts a remarkable 14-year career marked by unparalleled professionalism and unwavering work ethics. Whilst serving at premier air stations, including the prestigious Joint User International Airfield in Goa and the iconic aircraft carrier INS Viraat, he navigated the skies with precision and dedication. A proud alumnus of IIM Kozhikode, he seamlessly blends strategic thinking with hands-on experience. His leadership style reflects a unique blend of discipline, foresight, and a deep sense of responsibility. Beyond the radar screens and Operation Control Centre, he finds solace in the lens of his camera. A passionate traveller and photographer, he captures the essence of his journeys with a keen eye and an adventurous spirit. His love for exploration is not confined to the skies, as he continues to embrace new horizons in both his personal and professional pursuits.
